Year: 2019-2020
Medium: Primer, spray paint, and acrylic paint
Size: 713” x 82”
To begin with, a panel by our worship room was vandalized with curse words and random spray paint marks.
I volunteered to paint over the mural and the church gladly accepted it.
The texture of the wall was very bumpy and fabric like that it took me 3 layers to fully complete the base colors.
(It was a painful process under the sun for 3 hours with 2 other helpers)
At first I had 0 planning in my mind and started painting on whatever I felt like at the moment.
Biggest mistake for a huge piece and a lesson learned from this moment.
It left me with this monster...
I realized my mistakes and started revising both sides to have more coherence with each other instead of leaving it to a rainbow vomit.
I added more detailed biblical paintings that help with the flow.
To photograph for my portfolio, we brought the panel down to take a photograph of it in the sun!
So much thanks to the pastors:)
Here are some detail shots!
Thank you for reading my journey:)
